Finn picks apples

YouTube Video

A few weekends ago when Kevin was out of town, Finn and I took a day trip to Charlottesville, VA. Charlottesville is a gorgeous small town about an hours drive from Richmond.

We went to an apple orchard that was on the top of a mountain! The drive was a bit scary but the view at the top was worth it!

Finn loved picking apples, drinking cider, and eating fresh apple cider doughnuts, mmm.

Finn's birthday

Finn turned 2 a few weeks ago and we cannot believe that we have a walking, talking, joke-making little boy already instead of a tiny baby. He is a kind, sweet, smiley little person and brightens all of our days.

We had a baseball birthday party for him, complete with baseball cakes, decor, and a mini Detroit tigers uniform. We had a wonderful time with our friends and were blessed to have family here too. Sus, Aunt Kiki,Max, E, and Delia made the trip to share Finn's special day, thanks guys!

I did not take any pictures of the party or family fun )-: but got quite a few of Finn in his big boy baseball uniform. Enjoy!

Dapper Finn

A few weeks ago we took Finn to Indiana with us to attend the wedding of one of Kevin's best friends. He was a wonderful traveler and enjoyed seeing his Nini and papa. He especially loved swimming with papa in the hotel pool.
I was apprehensive about taking a 2 year old to a wedding but we went for it! and I even made him a tiny pair of trousers and a vest, so cute! He looked smashing and did very well during the ceremony. Some highlights:
- when we sat down he looked around for minute and then turned to the African American gentleman behind us and said " hi daddy!".
- when Kevin walked out ( he was in the wedding) Finn held up his foot and yelled " look dada, ma new tchoose! (shoes)".
- during the preachers talk he very loudly pointed out a flock of birds " look dada, birdies!".
While his physical cuteness did not diminish during the reception all other kinds of cuteness exited
the building. We breathed a sigh of relief when Nini and Papa took him back to the hotel around 8:30. Let's just say the highlight was when he threw a real fork across the table. The fork rickashayed off of Nini's glasses and landed in a strangers lap, oh my.

But he is 2 after all and had a lot of new things thrown at him all at once, I guess he just wanted to throw something back.
