Guest Post: Buddy Nancy!

Hello everyone, this is Finn's buddy/cousin/aunt/neighbor/first cousin once removed (?) Nancy Jo! I decided that since I am not officially an aunt, that Finn should call me Buddy Nancy. I have gotten mixed responses to this idea (including words like creepy and weird) but hey, I'm going to go with it for now and when Finn learns to talk he can call me whatever he wants. Maybe we can even bring Baby Nancy back :)

It has been so great to live so close to Carrie all through her pregnancy, seeing Finn the day he was born, and seeing him regularly all the way up to now. Though I'm fairly busy and wish I could see him more, I am glad for the time we do have. The first time I held him I was nervous because he felt so tiny, but pretty soon it felt great.

Finn's birth day:

Pretty soon it was Halloween so I stopped over to give FInn some Snickers and Tootsie Rolls (just kidding!).

Of course he was too cute to just be a pumpkin. He got to be a bear (monkey?) too! I also had two costumes, so we have a lot in common :)

Then, a few months later, he came out to dinner with me on my birthday. Awesome!

I stopped over before work on New Year's Eve for a quick visit, and some fun dress-up time with real fur hats (from Russia!...?). I think Finn's New Year's resolutions were to eat more solid foods and start making crazy awesome noises, and he is really sticking to them!

Another thing Finn is great at is going out to brunch. He must get that from me :) I look forward to teaching Finn all about how to build an omelet, why brunch is the best meal, and what the benefits are to Bloody Marys vs mimosas. (I promise I'll wait 20 1/2 years to do the last one).
Here is us at a great place in Indy called Zest:

This year I ate a delicious Easter dinner with Finn too, although he was barely visible behind Carrie's insane plate of ham!

Most recently, I spent our nation's birthday with Finn and the gang, eating red, white, and blue tortilla chips, grilled tofu (just for me), and Huddle's frozen yogurt. Finn made some great noises, and he loved the biodegradable orange spoon at the ice cream place. He's going green already!

Hmmm, whats this?

Finn and Buddy:

Whatcha look for Finn?

Hahahaah. One of my faves.

So happy and cute.

Trying to figure out why the grass was so prickly.

More spoon please!

Thanks for reading my guest post! I look forward to lots more fun times with Finn. He is such a great lil baby and I love it when he seems to recognize me and smiles at me when I come over to Carrie's.

Love you Finn!
